Informational Parameters

There are usually several constant parameters with information about the system in the section “Standard CMOS Features” (or Main). In some versions of BIOS these parameters can be stored in a separate subsection “System Information”. The most frequently used informational parameters are following:

  • Base Memory and Extended Memory – the amount of the base and extended memory accordingly;
  • Total Memory (Installed Memory, System Memory Size) – a total amount of installed memory;
  • BIOS Version – information about BIOS manufacturer, date of manufacture and the current version number;
  • Processor Type, Processor Speed – information about the processor manufacturer, its model and the current clock frequency. In some cases, here you can also find additional information, for example, the size of cache memory L1/L2.
