To clear CMOS, in most motherboards one should remove a jumper from 1-2 position to 2-3 one. There are sometimes two contacts which must be closed for a few seconds. Some motherboards may have micro switch for CMOS clearing.
If there is not any jumper or switch for CMOS clearing, you may try the following method:
- Switch off the power supply, open the system block, take the battery off the socket (if it is soldered to the motherboard, this method is not appropriate for you).
- In 10-20 minutes insert the battery back and start your computer.
If these steps did not lead to CMOS clearing, you may try to leave your motherboard without the battery for a day.
